Onion Soup

<This is for about 3-4 servings>

 

Ingredients
  • 4 onions
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Just under 1/2 cup red wine
  • 2 tsp chicken stock powder
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Baguette
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Gruyère cheese
  • Parsley (optional)

 

Instruction
  1. Thinly slice 4 onions and caramelize them in melted butter, stirring every 5 minutes to prevent burning.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté briefly.
  3. Stir in flour, then pour in red wine.
  4. Add water, chicken stock powder, and bay leaves.
  5. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove bay leaves.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Place baguette slices on top, add mozzarella cheese and Gruyère cheese.
  8. Bake at 390°F for 10–15 minutes.
  9. Garnish with parsley if desired.
